PUCV students received Cambridge certificates that certify their English proficiency internationally

The English as a Foreign Language Program (PILE) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso held three ceremonies to award Cambridge international certifications to university students who, in 2025, voluntarily chose to take these globally recognized exams.

The ceremonies served to recognize the commitment and dedication of the students who participated in this important international certification process, strengthening their language skills and expanding their academic and professional opportunities.

Cambridge certifications are internationally recognized and do not expire, allowing holders to officially demonstrate their English proficiency in academic, professional, and international mobility contexts.

The event also recognized 11 members of the “PUCV2English” program run by the Office of International Affairs, an initiative aimed at strengthening the language skills of the university community, including students, faculty, and academic support staff.

During the ceremony, Orlando de la Vega Luna, Director General of International Affairs at PUCV, emphasized the importance of the English language in internationalization and student mobility initiatives, while also highlighting the impact these certifications have on students’ education and international prospects.
