The General Directorate of International Affairs at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso hosted a visit from Dr. Ricardo Agostinete, a faculty member at the Universidade Estadual Paulista, Faculty of Science and Technology, Presidente Prudente campus, with the aim of strengthening academic cooperation ties and fostering new opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions.
The visit took place as part of a two-week academic stay at the PUCV School of Physical Education, where Dr. Agostinete participated as a visiting researcher on the Fondecyt FIT BONE Initiation Project, an initiative aimed at advancing research in the field of physical activity and health.
During his time at the University, the Brazilian scholar taught undergraduate and graduate students and participated in the evaluation of theses, thereby contributing to the strengthening of academic training and the exchange of knowledge between the two institutions.
As part of his schedule, Dr. Agostinete held a meeting at the General Directorate of International Affairs with the director of International Projects, Ignacio Bahamonde, accompanied by Júlio Mello Brugnara, a faculty member at the PUCV School of Physical Education. During the meeting, they discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between PUCV and UNESP, particularly in the areas of research, academic mobility, and student and faculty exchanges.
The visit provided an opportunity to plan new collaborative initiatives between the two universities, strengthening academic networks between Chile and Brazil and promoting the development of joint projects that contribute to the internationalization of teaching and research.
In this way, the PUCV continues to strengthen strategic partnerships with higher education institutions in Latin America, fostering opportunities for international cooperation that enrich students’ education, the work of its faculty, and the University’s scientific development.
