DAAD Lectureship at PUCV
The DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst—
n German Academic Exchange Service) lectorship at PUCV, led since 2021 by
Alina Neumeyer, supports and promotes academic, cultural, and language exchange
between Germany and the rest of the world.
📖Language Learning
Through the PALE German Program, German courses are offered during the semester, as well as intensive summer and winter programs for all levels (A1–C2), in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), in collaboration with Idiomas PUCV.
In addition, free extracurricular courses in translation, reading, and conversation are offered, along with training for teachers of German as a foreign language.
Scholarships and Academic Exchange Programs
Through information sessions and one-on-one counseling, guidance is provided on the study and research opportunities offered by the DAAD, including full scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies, as well as exchange programs for faculty, research internships, and various academic and institutional cooperation initiatives.
👥Cultural Activities
Throughout the year, cultural activities open to the university community and the general public are held to promote cultural exchange between Chile and Germany.
These include festivals, talks, workshops, themed conferences, competitions, screenings, and other initiatives organized by the DAAD Lectureship, among which are the Latinale Sur International Poetry Festival and the international competition Falling Walls Lab and the German Days.
Testimonials
B2.1 Course – Instructor Alina Neumeyer
“I’ve had the opportunity to participate in the DAAD German courses at PUCV, first as a student and now as a professional. The quality of instruction, the small class sizes, and the constant feedback have significantly contributed to my progress in learning the language. This experience strengthened my confidence in using German and increased my motivation to continue improving my skills. I recommend these courses to anyone seeking high-quality instruction with a communicative approach.”
— Andrea Pinto
Course A1.2 – Instructor Jana Strohbach

I appreciate her patience, her willingness to help, and the welcoming atmosphere she created throughout the semester. It was, without a doubt, a very enriching experience."

"Tschick" Reading Course – Wolfgang Herrndorf
“Taking this course was a very enriching experience. Through reading, conversation, and various activities, I was able to expand my vocabulary, improve my pronunciation, and learn more about German culture. I’d especially like to highlight the teacher’s passion and dedication, which made every class a very motivating experience.”
— Eduardo Simpson
Poetry Translation Course – Özlem Özgül Dündar
“This course demonstrated the immense value of translation as a collaborative process of reflection, dialogue, and cultural exchange. Working as a team helped us understand that translation is not just about finding equivalent words, but also about interpreting contexts, experiences, and meanings. It was a deeply enriching academic experience.”
