As part of the internationalization initiatives promoted by the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, the Office of International Affairs (DGAI) hosted a distinguished delegation from the University of Glasgow with the aim of strengthening academic collaboration and exploring new opportunities for joint work between the two institutions.
The delegation consisted of Professor Christopher Chapman, recognized for his work in educational leadership, systemic improvement, and educational equity; Professor Mo Hume, a specialist in political science, gender, and post-conflict contexts; and Dr. Margriet Cruywagen, a researcher involved in projects focused on educational improvement and collaboration between research and practice.
During their visit to PUCV, the delegation held meetings with various academic officials and university administrators, including the Director General of International Affairs, Orlando de la Vega Luna, as well as representatives from the Schools of Social Work, Physical Education, Medical Technology, and Education; the MBA program at the School of Business and Economics; and academic programs at the Institute of Literature and Language Sciences.
The itinerary included visits to the Sausalito and Curauma campuses, as well as a tour of the Immigrant Museum, located on Cerro Concepción in Valparaíso, a venue that fostered a meaningful dialogue on cultural diversity and memory.
The meetings focused on sharing experiences in research, educational innovation, public policy, academic mobility, and future international cooperation initiatives, thereby strengthening the relationship between PUCV and one of the most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom.
