Welcome to international students at PUCV

In the Hall of Honor of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, in a recent ceremony, 159 international students from various countries in Europe, Oceania, South America and North America, who have chosen Chile, and particularly PUCV, to live their study abroad experience, were welcomed.

The inaugural activity was led by the presbyter Jorge Romero and the director of International Exchange, Ivania Yáñez, who, in her words of welcome to the young foreign students, invited them to experience an integral immersion process that combines academics with social, cultural, sports and recreational activities.

The meeting was accompanied by a particular and special set of musical notes, chosen for the occasion in the voice of local soloist Marta Contreras. The meeting concluded with a cocktail of closeness and knowledge, which allowed a relaxed conversation and exchange of expectations between the various new foreign students PUCV with professors and special guests. It was also a moment to continue advancing in the complement of orientation and conversation to the new students regarding the different activities and opportunities they can find in the region and also in Chile, without leaving aside the opportunity to visit neighboring countries.

This meeting not only represents the beginning of an academic period, but also the opening of doors towards an intercultural experience and the building of lifelong friendships. Welcome to Chile, welcome to Valparaíso and especially welcome to PUCV, where culture and education are a bridge to the global future!
