The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso was the scene of the long-awaited Certification Ceremony for the students of the PUCV-PALE German Program. Students of different levels received their certificates after successfully completing the German courses taught by the Program, which are in accordance with the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The event was attended by academic and diplomatic authorities, as well as the awarded students and their families. Among the speakers was the German Consul in Valparaiso, Jan Karlsruher, who stressed the importance of learning the German language as a bridge to strengthen cultural and academic relations between Chile and Germany. He also highlighted the work done by the PUCV through "Mission Germany", an initiative promoted by the General Directorate of International Affairs to strengthen ties with Germany.
The General Director of International Affairs of the PUCV, Professor Orlando de la Vega Luna, also offered a few words, congratulating the students for their dedication and perseverance in completing the courses, and urging them to continue developing their language skills. He emphasized the importance of internationalization in academic training, inviting students to take advantage of opportunities for international exchange and collaboration.
For her part, the Director of PALE, Alina Neumeyer, thanked the students for their efforts. In her speech, she emphasized PALE's commitment to providing German as a foreign language instruction, not only in the German language, but also in fostering intercultural experiences that enrich university life.
In addition to the official words, the ceremony provided a space for the students to celebrate their achievements with their peers, academics and family members.
