The Director General of International Affairs of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Professor Orlando de la Vega Luna, participated in the meeting of the 57th Board of Directors of CINDA Rectors, held between October 16 and 18, 2024 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This event, organized by the universities Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), focused on "The contribution of universities to development, innovation, research and training of advanced human capital", and was attended by leading academics and international experts.
CINDA, a non-profit corporation recognized by UNESCO, has the mission of promoting collaboration between universities to improve educational quality and institutional management. During the meeting, significant advances were presented, such as the Report on Higher Education in Ibero-America 2024, which highlighted the main challenges and opportunities for the region. In addition, recent projects and publications were discussed, along with the planning of strategic actions that will guide the coming years of networking.
