The Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, through the General Directorate of International Affairs (DGAI) and the Center for Spanish as a Foreign Language (CELE-DGAI), held a ceremony to present certificates of participation to the international students who took part in the Summer 2-2026 program, an academic initiative focused on learning Spanish and gaining an understanding of Chilean culture.
The ceremony was led by René Venegas, Director of CELE-DGAI, and Esperanza Godoy, Academic Coordinator of CELE-DGAI, who presented the students with certificates of participation and highlighted the commitment they demonstrated throughout the program.
During their time at PUCV, the students participated in an intensive Spanish program taught by CELE-DGAI instructors, complementing their education with cultural activities and tours of various sites in Valparaíso and the Valparaíso Region. These experiences allowed them to strengthen their Spanish communication skills and learn about aspects of the local heritage, history, and traditions.
The Summer 2-2026 program brought together students from Norway, Germany, and the United States, who participated in a linguistic and cultural immersion experience and also interacted with students, faculty, and members of the university community.
During the closing ceremony, the participants received their certificates in recognition of completing the program; the event also provided an opportunity to share the experiences and lessons learned during their time at the university.
