PUCV reinforces its commitment to Chile-Argentina integration through the Paso Centauro project

The second meeting of the Chilean-Argentine Centauro Group was held at the National Congress under the theme "Digital trust: The new relationship between the Region of Valparaíso and the Province of Mendoza". The main objective of the meeting was to promote binational collaboration to improve the flow of goods, products and people at the border, using strategic technologies.

The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) played a prominent role in this event, reaffirming its commitment to the objectives of the Institutional Strategic Development Plan 2023-2029, which seeks to strengthen international cooperation networks, especially with institutions such as the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, a strategic ally in this initiative.

The Rector of the PUCV, Nelson Vásquez, highlighted the importance of this type of activities to promote collaboration between the two countries. He highlighted the relevance of democracy and the generation of trust as the basis for joint development, stating that politics and economic development are key to building lasting relations and finding paths towards progress for both nations.

The Paso Centauro project aims to implement the X-Road platform, in order to improve connectivity between Chile and Argentina at their border, optimizing logistics flows and promoting a more efficient and secure exchange. This project reflects the commitment of the PUCV to contribute to binational development through innovative and sustainable solutions from academia.

Also participating in the event on behalf of the PUCV was the General Director of International Affairs, Professor Orlando de la Vega Luna, who moderated the Panel on Trade Union Challenges.
