The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso held the Farewell Ceremony for the international students who completed the second semester 2025 at the institution. The activity, organized by the Directorate General of International Affairs (DGAI), brought together about 190 students in the Gymnasium of the Central House, in an atmosphere marked by emotion, gratitude and the closing of a transforming experience.
During the ceremony, two students of Peruvian nationality shared their testimonies about what it meant to live an academic semester in Chile. Both highlighted the welcome of the university community, the strengthening of their professional training and the cultural richness they experienced during their exchange at PUCV.
One of the most applauded moments was the presentation of the group of students who participated in the Traditional Dances Workshop, directed by Professor Mario Molina, who performed typical Chilean dances, delivering a festive closing full of local identity.
Likewise, each student received a certificate recognizing their participation in the exchange program, amidst the applause of classmates, academics and Chilean host families, who were a fundamental part of their integration process.
The Director General of International Affairs, Orlando de la Vega Luna, greeted the students, thanking them for their contribution to the university community and encouraging them to maintain the bonds created during their stay.
The ceremony concluded with the words of the Vice Chancellor of the PUCV, Friar Cristian Eichin Molina, who delivered a closing message and a blessing, inviting the students to project what they have learned towards their future personal and academic challenges.
With this farewell, the international students return to their countries taking with them new knowledge, friendships and cultural experiences that strengthen the links between PUCV and the world.
