DGAI reaffirms its commitment to training internationalization in the Punta del Diablo 2025 Crossing

The Director of International Exchange of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Ivania Yáñez, together with the Coordinator of Events and Communications of the Directorate General of International Affairs (DGAI), Lorena Muñoz, visited the students of the School of Architecture and Design (EAD) who will participate in the Travesía Punta del Diablo 2025, which will take place between November 10 and 17, 2025 in Uruguay.

During the meeting, Ivania Yáñez shared a message of support and reflection on the importance of integrating professional training, territory and internationalization. On the occasion, she also conveyed the greetings of the Director General of International Affairs, Professor Orlando de la Vega, who could not be present, reaffirming the commitment of the DGAI to accompany initiatives that strengthen cooperation and learning in an international context.

In her remarks, Ivania Yáñez emphasized that "these experiences are a unique opportunity to learn in the field, strengthen cooperation with other institutions and build from practice a global sense of university work".

The journeys are poetic and constructive journeys that the School has been carrying out since 1984, constituting a formative experience that unites poetry, craft and territory. Each year, the workshops develop a collective work in different locations in Chile and Latin America, promoting comprehensive training and social and environmental commitment of future professionals.

In this edition, the Travesía Punta del Diablo 2025 seeks to collaborate with the local community of this Uruguayan fishing village, which is promoting the creation of an ecological park. The students will design and build a public work to consolidate its perimeter, incorporating informative signage, wooden paths, furniture and an amphitheater for the local school, promoting sustainability, accessibility and dialogue between architecture and community.

The project will strengthen the ties of cooperation between the PUCV and the University of the Republic of Uruguay (UDELAR), through its Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (FADU) and the Laboratory of Participatory and Affective Urbanism (LUPA-IETU), consolidating the institutional commitment to internationalization, experiential learning and the link with the territory.
