The Director of International Projects at PUCV participated in the plenary session of the CRUCH Internationalization Commission

On May 14 and 15, the Plenary Session of the Internationalization Commission of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) was held at the University of Bío-Bío’s Concepción campus. The event brought together representatives from various higher education institutions across the country to discuss challenges and future prospects regarding university internationalization.

Representing the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso was Ignacio Bahamonde, Director of International Projects at the General Directorate of International Affairs (DGAI), who participated in the working sessions aimed at strengthening inter-university cooperation and enhancing the global standing of Chilean universities.

During the meeting, participants discussed various strategic issues related to the internationalization of higher education, including migration policies and international accreditation systems, studies on the current state of internationalization, perspectives on regional impact and development, as well as initiatives related to international curricula and internationalization at home.

The event also established technical action plans to address highly complex national challenges, promoting collaborative work among the institutions that make up the commission.
The event was organized by the University of Bío-Bío and included the participation of representatives from universities belonging to the CRUCH, reaffirming the institutions’ commitment to strengthening international collaboration networks and developing joint strategies for Chilean higher education.
