The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) participated virtually through the General Directorate of International Affairs with Professor Sonia Toledo of the Center for Spanish as a Foreign Language in the 7th International Symposium on Languages for Specific Purposes, which this year was held at George Washington University. This symposium, which brought together language and education experts from around the world, is a significant milestone for the internationalization and global projection of PUCV.
The importance of this participation lies in several key aspects. First, it is the first time that a panel dedicated exclusively to Latin America has been invited, and PUCV was the only representative from Chile in this space for international dialogue. This recognition highlights the academic quality and commitment of PUCV to language teaching and research in specialized areas.
The symposium was held in hybrid mode, which allowed the participation of more than 200 professors and academics from various educational institutions worldwide. This platform for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of languages for specific purposes is invaluable for professional growth and collaboration between universities in different countries.
