In a joint effort to promote international research in the field of oceanography, the Embassy of Italy in Chile, the Italian Navy, represented by the Italian Navy Training Ship "Amerigo Vespucci" and the PUCV, through its School of Marine Sciences, held the seminar "From the Mediterranean to the Pacific: The Protection of Marine Biodiversity", which brought together experts and academics from both nations to exchange knowledge and experiences in the field of marine conservation.
In the same sense of international collaboration and as part of these activities, the photographic exhibition "Siamo Mare. la Bellezza del Mare, Biodiversità e Sostenibilità Ambientale" has been held at the Centenario Hall of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, an exhibit implemented by its School of Architecture and Design, which expresses the beauty and importance of marine biodiversity from an Italian perspective. The images, taken along the coast of Italy, reflect the diversity and grandeur of the Mediterranean Sea, highlighting Italy's historical and cultural connection to the ocean.
These joint activities between the Italian Embassy in Chile, the Italian Navy and the PUCV strengthen the ties of international cooperation in marine conservation, demonstrating the shared commitment of both nations to the protection of our oceans and their invaluable biodiversity.
