PUCV with French and Costa Rican embassies organize Blue Talk

As part of the preparations for the 2025 United Nations Conference in Nice to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14, Costa Rica and France, co-hosts of the event, have resumed the "Blue Talks", a series of discussions aimed at promoting ocean action and raising awareness of the importance of preserving its biodiversity.

The event, entitled "The Ocean and Sustainable Development: Challenges, Technologies and Conservation", brought together leading experts, representatives from academia, international organizations, civil society organizations, the private sector and the diplomatic corps.

In this context, the importance of the ocean as a climate regulator, source of food and generator of employment worldwide was highlighted. However, the challenges it faces, including plastic pollution, loss of biodiversity and illegal fishing practices, were also highlighted.

The main objectives of the Blue Talk in Chile were to promote the upcoming High Level Event on Ocean Action in Costa Rica, raise awareness on the priority issues of the UN conference and create a space for exchange to identify and share cases of good practices in the field of ocean action in Chile.
