The Faculty of Engineering of the PUCV organized the Seminar "Enhancing Engineering Education with Immersive Reality", where the integration of immersive reality technologies in engineering education was discussed. The event counted with the special participation of Professor Silvia Garofalo, from Politecnico Di Torino, as keynote speaker. Both undergraduate and graduate students were invited to participate in this talk, which was conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation.
Professor Silvia's presentation focused on the innovative application of virtual reality (VR) technologies in chemical engineering education. Various aspects were addressed, from the creation of virtual environments for experimentation to the use of immersive simulations to understand complex concepts.
The seminar provided a space to explore how immersive reality can enhance the learning experience in engineering, offering new tools and approaches for teaching and professional development. Professor Garofalo's presence at the event enriched the discussion and promoted the exchange of ideas among the participants, who showed great interest in the practical applications of this technology in education.
