The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) warmly welcomed the 120 foreign students who have arrived for the second semester of the year 2023 as exchange students at our university. This opportunity will allow them to immerse themselves in a new culture, learn from diverse perspectives and enrich themselves both academically and personally.
Currently the PUCV, through the DGAI, is working to resume the mobility (both incoming and outgoing) of the pre-pandemic era, but also to diversify the offer available to our students (through funding, extra-academic services and support during all processes, among others), so as to contribute to the exchange as the integral experience that it is.
As for our visiting students, PUCV has a great tradition and history with foreign students who continue to prefer us because of the Spanish courses we offer, the possibility of studying different subjects with local students and being able to combine the academic experience with life in the city that attracts foreigners so much. Valparaíso has a great cultural and tourist attraction, being even the second region, after the Metropolitan Region, that receives the largest number of exchange students and the University wants to continue being part of this experience.
For the University it is equally relevant that our own students can access the exchange, an experience that complements the academic and life training, learning new cultures and languages, networks (whether professional or personal), openness to new situations and gaining knowledge in their areas of study, aspects that can contribute to their future activities.
We hope that foreign students enjoy their stay in Chile, discover the beauty of Valparaíso and other wonders of the country, and feel welcome in the university community. May this semester be fruitful and full of academic achievements for all of them.
We wish you much success in your studies and may this experience at PUCV mark a significant milestone in your lives! May you return to your home countries with valuable experiences and unforgettable memories!
