Today was held the International Seminar "Crafting Methods in Design Research," an event that brought together leading experts in the field of research in design and architecture. The seminar, which took place on Friday, September 29th from 09:00hrs, fulfilled its main objective of presenting various research tools commonly used in the fields of design and architecture, shedding light on when and how to apply them effectively.
This seminar provided a unique platform for graduate students to critically evaluate the methods they have used or plan to use in their research proposals. The interaction between the different epistemological and methodological perspectives presented at the event, coming from institutions such as the School of Architecture and Design of the Pontifical University of Valparaiso, the La Cambre-Horta Faculty of Architecture of the Université libre de Bruxelles, and the Faculty of Architecture of the Roma Tre University, enriched the research programs related to methodologies relevant to practice and projection in these fields.
The School of Architecture and Design of the Pontificia Universidad de Valparaíso, with its recognized trajectory based on the interaction between architecture, design and poetry, was one of the outstanding hosts of this event. The La Cambre-Horta Faculty of Architecture of the Université libre de Bruxelles, with its extensive experience in socio-urban research and its commitment to participatory methodologies, also played a key role. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Architecture of the Roma Tre University, specializing in socio-ecological processes and design, contributed its valuable perspective.
This international seminar promoted an enriching dialogue and exchange of experiences among professors, researchers, doctoral candidates and master's students, thus consolidating the importance of research in design and architecture. Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso is proud to have been part of this outstanding academic initiative.
